Ras Tafari Speaks to a World in Crisis
"Good health is not only necessary for the well-being and happiness of man but is also a fundamental prerequisite for the progress and prosperity of a nation. Just as education ensures promotion of man's knowledge in all fields of endeavor, so does proper medical care help in safeguarding and promoting his physical and mental growth. 'The preservation of health is a duty. Few seem conscious that there is a thing as physical morality,' are sagacious words worth noting here.

Disease which knows no boundary, has always, throughout man's chequered history, been his deadliest enemy. Despite the all-out war against this scourge, at private, national and international levels, it has and still continues to claim untold lives. The tenacious and ceaseless efforts of scientists and medical doctors through the ages have definitely contributed much to the advancement of medical science, which in turn, has helped immensely in relieving the suffering caused by disease."
A Message from IDOR's Executive Board
March 20, 2020

Greetings and Blessings to the IDOR Family, our supporters and all people of good faith.

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and its impact on the physical, social and economic well-being of members within our region and across the world, IDOR offers the following:

First, it is InI solemn prayer for the protection and safety of all good people across our humanity!

IDOR also sends healing meditations and good wishes for those good people who are currently affected by the virus. InI also encourage those who are not affected to be vigilant, mindful and responsible in taking care of themselves, their families and their neighbors. IDOR also salutes all healthcare workers who are on the front-line battling COVID-19. InI pray for their health and victory in this perilous battle, and encourage members of the family to join the noble professions in healthcare and patient support.

InI are reminded of the timely words and hope-filled admonitions of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, when he stated:

“The problems which confront us today are unprecedented; they have no counterpart in human experience. Men search the pages of history for solutions, for precedents but alas there are none to be found. This then is the ultimate challenge. Where are we to look for our survival? For answers to questions which have never been asked before.

We must look first to almighty God who has raised man above the animals and endowed him with intelligence and reason. We must put our faith in him that he will not desert us or permit us to destroy mankind which he created in his image.

And we must look into ourselves, into the depth of our souls. We must become something we have never been and for which our education and experience and environment have ill-prepared us. We must become bigger than we have been: more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become members of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men within the human community.”

Modern science is a civic necessity, and we must all adhere to public cautions based on empirical data. However, it is also prudent for us to draw from the reserves of our ancient traditions and our innate spirituality, including good hygienic practices, herbs, chants, iritical texts and chakras for support and guidance in these uncertain times.

May Almighty Jah protect ALL good people!

Please also note that even in the midst of this pandemic and its current restrictions, IDOR’s good works and mission continues unabated. We will forever uphold the Banner of Ethiopia, provide information, and share knowledge on the teachings and life examples of Emperor Haile Selassie I, Ras Tafari!
Information will be shared through our Newsletter, website (idorhim.org), and other online media.

Let us continue to be thankful for the blessings that have been bestowed on us and for those still to be revealed. Let us also remember that ALL things are in accordance to the will of InI Ivine Majesties Emperor Haile Selassie I and Empress Menen Asfaw. All things work together for GOOD!!!

Perfect Love and I-Tection,
IDOR Executives

IDOR is happy to report that our Elders are all safe, maintaining their prior health statuses, and are not affected by COVID-19.

Stalwart-Mother, Nana Farika remains vibrant in thought and counsel, and is prospecting on future works about her life's journey/mission and accomplishments. IDOR salutes her and is looking forward to reciprocal support for years to come.

Father Irice continues to receive medical support for preexisting health challenges. He offers valuable support to the organization and to the Ras Tarfari Nation.

Baba Ras Marcus is currently in a healthcare facility and up to recently, was receiving regular visits from his Baltimore Ras Tafari care team (Ras Nyah, Ras Melku and Ras Ateba).
