Greetings!

Indiana Dairy Producers Announces New
Executive Director

After 10 years of excellent leadership, Doug Leman announced his intentions to retire from his Executive Director role of Indiana Dairy Producers. Doug has expanded the membership of IDP and has made IDP a strong voice of dairy producers in Indiana. It is with sincere appreciation that we thank Doug Leman for his years of leadership and vision.

Indiana Dairy Producers has selected Steve Obert of Fort Branch, Indiana as their next Executive Director. Born and raised on a dairy farm in southern Indiana, he is no stranger to agriculture and its challenges. After graduating from Purdue University, Steve worked in ag lending for several years prior to returning to the family dairy farm in 1987. Steve has served on a variety of boards including Gibson County Co-op, Superior Ag Co-op, Gibson County Area Planning Commission and several ag related advisory boards in addition to Indiana Dairy Producers.  Steve served as president of IDP from 2014 to 2017.  He is currently owner and partner in Obert Farms and Obert Legacy Dairy.

Doug Leman’s tenure of leadership will end in July, 2021 with Steve Obert beginning on May 1st, 2021.  Doug can still be reached at (317) 695-8228 or by email at dougleman@indianadairy.org. Steve Obert can be reached by email at steveobert@indianadairy.org
