educator Update
News and information specifically for our academic design community

Greetings!

First, we want to acknowledge that current circumstances due to COVID-19 have been difficult for our academic community. Please know we are here for you and open to learning more about how we can help industrial design students, educators and schools during this challenging time.

For now, please visit IDSA's COVID-19 Updates and Resources page for the latest information on our response and programmatic changes associated with this pandemic. With the help of our community, we've also built a new Remote Designing Resource Center . If you have resources to share, please let us know .

There also is a growing group of educators on LinkedIn focused on sharing tools, resources and ideas for navigating the transition from in-person to virtual coursework specific to industrial and product design. Please join that conversation here.

We also know that many of your students have been displaced and may not have the opportunity to present their work in a traditional, in-person senior gallery setting. To respond to this need, we are building a new online IDSA Senior Show and Gallery for our 2020 graduating seniors to share their work online. Thanks to Leslie Speer, IDSA (Chair of Product Design at MICA) and Verena Paepcke-Hjeltness, IDSA (IDSA Education Director and Associate Professor of Practice in Design at the University of Texas) for this great idea. Stay tuned for launch details soon!

Below you'll find more information on IDSA's ongoing academic-focused programs. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns or requests for assistance. We've got your back.

Sincerely yours,

IDSA HQ
