APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN: Equity in IECMHC ECHO
The Center of Excellence for Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (CoE for IECMHC) ECHO Hub seeks to support IECMHC program implementation through the development of TWO virtual training programs, the Equity in IECMHC Project LAUNCH ECHO and Equity in IECMHC ECHO. Using the Project ECHO technology-enabled collaborative learning model, the Equity in IECMHC ECHO programs convene IECMHC program supervisors implementing IECMHC programs in rural, tribal, and/or territories, bringing together participants and IECMHC experts in a bi-directional learning environment through monthly ECHO sessions.

NTTAC Trauma and Resiliency Action-Informed
Learning Series (TRAILS): Kick-off Event
|
|
Beginning with this kickoff event, NTTAC will launch a center-wide action and informed learning series focused on addressing trauma and building resilience in and across all systems. This event will offer perspectives of trauma and resiliency in a panel format featuring youth and young adults, family members/caregivers, clinicians, and other stakeholders. The panel will be followed by opportunities to discuss current challenges, innovations, and needs in smaller groups with facilitators. Issues and ideas that emerge from discussion will inform and support the learning series over the next year.
All who provide services and supports to children, youth, and families, and those who receive services and supports from the child-serving system of care.

New PDG Birth-Five Brief: Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation: Overview of Research, Best Practices, and Examples
This brief gives an overview of infant and early childhood mental health consultation (IECMHC) for policymakers and program leaders, summarizing its state of research and implementation efforts. IECMHC is a prevention-oriented, multilevel intervention in which mental health professionals with training in early child development are paired with the caregivers of young children to build adult’s capacities to support children’s social-emotional development and address challenging behavior.

Undoubtedly, the COVID-19 pandemic has comprehensively disrupted life around the world, including for our youngest learners. But as we approach a possible end to this particular crisis, we should not strive to return to the inadequate and inequitable pre-pandemic normal in our early learning and education systems. President Biden recently announced the outlines of his American Families Plan (AFP), a series of investments aimed at supporting children and families from cradle to career. This brief focuses on one element of the AFP—universal preschool—and describes how, alongside other elements like quality child care, child tax credits, and paid family leave, it can bridge opportunity gaps and promote healthy, positive outcomes for young learners. Specifically, the brief unpacks the argument for making Head Start the anchor of a new universal system to ensure an equitable, mixed delivery, high-quality, and comprehensive system that optimizes existing funding streams and coordinates new ones to meet this unique moment in history.
