Active Metasurface Based DoA Estimation
A direction of arrival (DoA) estimation method based on amplifier-integrated active metasurface is proposed in this paper. Nonuniformly periodic time modulation on the metasurface reduces the hardware complexity and only partial elements are required for 2-D DoA estimation.

Battery-Free, ANN-Assisted Microwave Resonator Array for Ice Detection
This article presents an ice detection system consisting of a battery-free, chip-less wirelessly interrogated resonator array, and an artificial neural network for enhanced detection robustness. The designed array of split-ring resonators was a narrowband frequency-selective structure with a ground plane reflector which shielded resonance from the effect of installation material.
Patented Reflectionless Filters Eliminate
Spurs & Intermods
Based on a novel, patented filter topology and produced with Mini-Circuits’ industry-leading MMIC design and manufacturing capability, Mini-Circuits’ reflectionless filters are the only commercially available filters that absorb and internally terminate stopband signals rather than reflecting them back up the signal chain. Learn how customers are finding innovative ways to achieve new levels of performance with these revolutionary products and explore over 150 models in stock to see what they can do for your design.

DFRSWG Slow Wave Structure with Low Loss for 220-GHz Traveling-Wave Tube
A double flat-roofed sine waveguide (DFRSWG) slow wave structure (SWS) with low loss for 220-GHz traveling-wave tube (TWT) is demonstrated in this letter. Experimental results demonstrate transmission loss of 0.62–0.75 dB/cm in the frequency band of 210–250 GHz.

Nonlinear and Load-Pulling Effects in an Octave-Bandwidth Transmit Array
This article presents the design and nonlinear analysis of an octave-bandwidth transmit in-phase power combiner feed network. The goal is to evaluate the effects of supply voltage and nonlinearities on EIRP, overall efficiency, and linearity.

Zero-Power Trans-Cardiac Link with Antennified Aortic Valve Bioprostheses
This paper presents a method to exploit the peculiar form-factor of the internal metallic stent of a bioprosthesis as a natural energy harvester to achieve a reliable wireless trans-cardiac RFID-based, battery-free, communication link with no relevant change to a prosthetic heart valve.
