Galvanic-Coupled Trans-Dural Data Transfer for Intracortical Neural Sensing
A digital-impulse galvanic coupling as a new high-speed trans-dural (from cortex to the skull) data transmission method is presented in this article. The proposed wireless telemetry replaces the tethered wires connected in between implants on the cortex and above the skull, allowing the brain implant to be “free-floating” for minimizing brain tissue damage.

Reconfigurable Multiband Mismatch-Resilient Quasi-Balanced Doherty PA
A reconfigurable Quasi-balanced Doherty PA with concurrent wide bandwidth and load-mismatch resilience is reported. This work unveils a promising PA solution to energy- and spectrum-efficient massive MIMO systems where antenna impedance mismatch is unavoidable due to the array operation.
Connectorized Mixer Covers LO/RF from 20 to
65 GHz
Mini-Circuits’ new ZMDB-653H-E+ coaxial frequency mixer provides an RF and LO frequency range from 20 to 65 GHz and an IF bandwidth from DC to 20 GHz. Usable as an up- and down-converter, this model can handle up to +21 dBm input power and provides +45 dBm L-R Isolation.

Cough Detection Using FMCW Radar
A body motion artifact cancellation technique is described to detect human cough signals using a FMCW radar. Human coughs are spontaneously accompanied by large-scale body motions, which overwhelm small-scale vibration signals induced by coughing. Experimental validation shows the cough signal can be effectively detected by the radar.

Microfluidically Reconfigurable mmWave Slow Wave Phase Shifter
A microfluidically reconfigurable phase shifter is introduced for mmWave band operation. Its integrated piezoelectric actuator repositions a selectively metallized plate (SMP) encapsulated within a microfluidic channel to modify the speed of propagation through a microstrip line. The device offers advantages of low insertion loss and high-power handling capability.

High-Power Circulator: Assembly Design and Challenges
A high-power Y-junction circulator is discussed for radar applications in the Ku-band. The design consists of two identical circulators combined using power splitters at all ports. An internally matched divider is used at one port of the system to eliminate the cavity resonances produced by the practical asymmetries. Experimental validation shows a good agreement between simulated and measured results with ± 2 dB difference in range.
