Course Description from the IEW website: "Moving through Units 1-7, students will take notes, summarize narrative stories, write from pictures, put together a mini research report, and compose creative essays." The lessons in this course are taught in weekly class sessions with homework to be completed during the remainder of the week. For best student success, home educator should plan to review and edit with the student. Vocabulary is included in this program. Grammar is integrated into the editing process but is not taught in this course. Competent reading skills are necessary; please email me to discuss if you are not sure: heatgrammarian@gmail.com

Instructor:
Hi! My name is Amy Loesch, and I am taking over for Ms. Kelly this fall. I taught high school English 1 and 2 last year along with Public Speaking and Creative Writing for middle and high school. I have my Bachelor's of Arts in Religious Education and was a semester of student teaching shy of receiving my Master's in Teaching for Secondary English before we were deployed to England. I am a grammar nerd who loves to read and write. More than that, I genuinely find great joy in teaching. I'm looking forward to the school year and you can expect a more specific email from me by Sunday or Monday. Required materials are on the registration page.
