WHO Country and Technical Guidance – COVID-19:
Update on Consideration of Older People
The advice provided by WHO Country and Technical Guidance alongside the Immunization Agenda 2030 offers actionable steps which must be taken by decision-makers, civil society organizations and older people founded upon a rights-based approach.
Older people are mentioned in 39 / 92 (or 42%) of the WHO COVID-19 Country and Technical Guidance documents, an increase since the same analysis was completed by the IFA in April 2020.
The IFA encourages further development of new and existing, important resources with a mention of older people.

An emerging trend in Canada is the use of biosimilars as a
n alternative treatment
to biologics in numerous treatment areas. Recent policies across Canada suggest that biosimilars will soon be entering the field of ophthalmology, however there are currently no guidelines and clinical data available on the
safe and appropriate use in the treatment of vision loss
.
The IFA has recently relaunched eyeseeyou.care to raise awareness about biosimilars in opthalmology.
|
Join the upcoming EyeSeeYou Virtual Vision Health Panel to gain awareness of the implications of biosimilar policies, address concerns raised by multisectoral participants and connect with leading experts in Canada’s health and patient advocacy landscape.
