NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER
"PRIDE EVENT; True Colors Shining
On June 22nd members of the New England chapter gathered at Fòssięl in Boston for a reception celebrating Pride with cocktails, small bites and charcuterie boards. A DJ had the room vibing along with the huge petrified wooden stone slabs, tables, sinks and other products Fòssięl curates, many of which are 25 million+ years old.
The event was also the launch of the Green Mountain Minerals Collection. Kevin Schofield presented the line with Erin McKeon Bell and gave an informational session on these beautiful gems.
A raffle and a donation-by-QR-code garnered well over $1,300 to benefit the night's charity Waltham House, aka Home for Little Wanders which houses LGBTQ+ youth in a safe setting in a MA suburb. This charity was selected for it’s unique ability to set LGBTQ+ youth on a path to success in all areas of their life.
A cake in the shape of a fossilized gemstone was enjoyed towards the end of the night, where designers, builders, architects and vendors continued to network with their peers, smiles all around and dancing!"

NEW YORK CHAPTER
On July 25th the NY Chapter of IFDA gathered with the NY Chapters of ASID Metro NY, DLFNY, IDS NYC, & NKBA Manhattan for the industry wide GREATEST SUMMER SOCIAL ON EARTH! in partnership with Samsung at their flagship NYC Experience Store.

SU HILTY, FIFDA, STILL HOLDING COURT
Linda Kulla, FIFDA, IFDA Executive Director and long time member of the NY Chapter recently visited Su Hilty in her new home in Sarasota. Su had Linda over for a lovely lunch at the Sarabella where they dined in a private dining room. Linda noted that everyone said hello to Su as they passed through the general dining room and numerous residents and staff waved at them through the glass doors. Linda did not find this a surprise, based on the name tag Su was wearing!

A FEW GOOD FELLOWS

A Fellow is an IFDA member who is recognized for service both in the Association and to the community, and for contributions to education and service to our industry. This is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a member.
The IFDA Fellow has served in many Board Positions, assisted on committees, and possibly served as a Chapter President and/or in a position on the National Board. Community service is also a component for completing the necessary criteria to qualify for Fellows. All of these positions and activities accumulate points that contribute to the awarding of the Fellows designation.
A few of our members work such long and tireless hours to achieve great goals in our chapters and our communities that they deserve an award. If you feel that you may have achieved this level, we encourage you to enlist the assistance of your local Chapter’s Fellows Chair or Historian and start compiling your application. You will be surprised at how much you have accomplished. Your application should be submitted to your Chapter’s Fellow Chair or President, if your chapter does not have a Fellows Chair, who will review it and forward it to International Headquarters. The applications must be received at Headquarters for review by October 1st, but don’t wait until the last minute.

The IFDA New York Chapter recently visited the Shifman Mattress factory in Newark, NJ. There they experienced first hand the craftmanship of the Shifman Mattrresses. The left photo is showing the hand tufting with extremely long needles, and the right photo show the hand tying of the box springs. | |
