Our sympathies go out to the Ron Sessions family. Ron passed away peacefully on June 25th, at the age of 79.

Ron began his 50+ year distinguished career with the Arlington Heights Fire Department, later serving the Elgin Fire Department, and closing out his career with Marengo Fire Rescue District.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, a private family ceremony will be held to celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Ron to the

The IFIA is hosting a social/fundraising event on July 31^st at the Joliet Slammers baseball game. There will be fireworks following the game. A small portion of the ticket price is returned to the Fire Inspectors. This would be a good time to bring your family and friends to a night baseball game and see some fireworks. Volunteers are urgently needed to staff the Safety Tent at the State Fair. Our day is August 16th, from 10 – 4, gate and parking passes are provided, and lunch is also provided. If you, your friends, and family would like to help out, contact the office with your name and number of people. Even a few hours helps out, which will give you time to enjoy the rest of the Fair.


The National Association of State Fire Marshals is offering a free all-day class in Plainfield on July 7th, on Best Practices for Addressing Homelessness and Migrant Issues.
