IFLC Co-Sponsors Upcoming Annual Urban-Suburban Interfaith Picnic

We are delighted to extend our warmest invitation to join us for the Urban-Suburban Interfaith Picnic, a joyous celebration of unity, diversity, and friendship.



Sunday, July 30th

1:00 PM - 5:00 PM


Palmer Park, 910 Merrill Plaisance


We will gather near the splash pad.


The Urban-Suburban Interfaith Picnic aims to bring together individuals from many faiths and beliefs, transcending boundaries and building bridges of harmony. It's an opportunity to learn about each other's traditions, cultures, and practices while cherishing the similarities that unite us as one human family.


This event promises to be a delightful experience with activities for all ages, including:

  • Games and Crafts for Kids
  • Face Painting

InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit to Present at the 2023 Parliament of the World Religions

In August of 2023, the Parliament of the World’s Religions returns to the birthplace of the modern interfaith movement after 30 years away to celebrate 130 years of history in the city of Chicago. The IFLC is honored to be presenting information about our program, Bridging to Belonging, at this prestige conference.


Parliament Convenings attract participants from more than 200 diverse religious, indigenous, and secular beliefs across more than 80 nations.


Registrants enjoy access to all the plenary sessions, hundreds of breakout sessions, art & cultural exhibits, performances, a film festival, and countless opportunities to connect with individuals and organizations committed to justice, peace, and sustainability.


The 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions will be hosted in McCormick Place Lakeside Center from August 14-18, 2023

The IFLC is hosting a community bus tour that will explore the rich history of some of Detroit's earliest houses of worship.


Tour bus is currently scheduled for October 13th, with departure anticipated near West Bloomfield.
