Partner Spotlight 🔍

The Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania has hosted UCSF residents for more than 10 years. IGOT is excited to finally be able to reciprocate this opportunity by hosting two orthopaedic surgeons from MOI to participate in a four-week observership program. This is part of IGOT's ongoing initiative to create a one-to-one exchange program between institutions and is a vital part of our annual educational programs.

Drs. Patrick Ngunyale and George Njambilo share their observership experience below.

"We feel privileged to have the opportunity to participate in the clinical observership program at UCSF. As surgeons from a resource-limited setting where motorcycle accidents are the leading cause of death and disability among the young population, this opportunity allows us to upgrade our knowledge and skills on advanced methods for patient care with musculoskeletal injuries. This exposure will enhance better healthcare provision when we go back home. A special thanks to IGOT for making this possible!"
