The resiliency benefits of geosynthetics will be in the spotlight at the 12th International Conference on Geosynthetics (ICG). The ICG is held every four years and will next take place on September 18 – 22, 2022 in Rome. This 12th edition is jointly organized by the Italian Geotechnical Society (AGI) and the Italian Chapter of the IGS (AGI-IGS). Themed ‘Geosynthetics: leading the way to a resilient planet’, it will explore the use of geosynthetics to withstand the impact of natural events often caused by climate change.

Best Papers of 2019 Announced!

Named in honor of J.P. Giroud, the Giroud Lecture has seen some of the most experienced members of the geosynthetics community sharing their ideas on an international stage.
Given every four years during the International Conference on Geosynthetics, the lecture has until recently been solely delivered by men. This changed in 2018 when Dr. Nathalie Touze, Vice President of the IGS, became the first woman to give the Giroud Lecture, at the 11th ICG in Seoul, Korea. READ MORE

Vital information about geosynthetics will receive a wider audience thanks to an IGS Chile initiative. A new collaboration initiated by IGS Chile with the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI) allows the Chapter access to the consortium’s white papers, technical guides and practices for translation into Spanish.
