The IGS Technical Committee on Barrier Systems (TC-B) will host speaker Kent von Maubeuge who will talk on ‘GCL Standard Specification GRI-GCL3: background and development, limitations and latest updates’. In January 2020, the International Geosynthetic Society, Technical Committee on Barriers (TC-B), held a back-to-back workshop with the Technical Committee on Reinforcement (TC-R) at the Barcelona Technical University, Barcelona, Spain. READ MORE



Members of the UK Chapter of the IGS met virtually and appointed a new chairperson. Former vice-chair Patricia Guerra-Escobar took over from Andrew Belton, who had been chair for the last two years. The vice-chair is now Dave Woods.

The Italian Chapter of the IGS, known as AGI-IGS, has been active for nearly three decades. As members prepare for the prestigious 12th International Conference on Geosynthetics in Rome next year, Chapter President Daniele Cazzuffi gave us an insight into the busy group. READ MORE

Organizers have extended the abstract deadline to February 28, 2021. The 12th ICG is set to take place in Rome, Italy, on September 18-22, at the stunning Auditorium Parco della Musica. READ MORE


Organizers of the rescheduled 7th Asian Regional Conference on Geosynthetics are still welcoming abstract submissions. The deadline has been extended to March 31, 2021 because of the new conference dates. READ MORE
