The IGS’ Educate the Educator (EtE) program was featured during the Geotechnical Engineering Education Conference (GEE2020), organized by the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) and endorsed by the International Geosynthetics Society. The GEE2020 Conference took place from June 23 to 25. Originally planned as a regular (in-person) conference in Athens, Greece, the current COVID-19 pandemic necessitated restructuring the conference format to online streaming. READ MORE
IGS 2020 Election Results Are In!

The 2020 IGS Elections have closed and we are pleased to share with you the results. With a field of 17 extraordinary candidates from 12 countries applying for 7 council positions there was significant competition! Due to the worldwide pandemic and concerns over the coronavirus (Covid-19) situation, the 7th Asian Regional Conference on Geosynthetics (GeoAisa7) which was originally scheduled to take place from March 01-05, 2021 in Taipei, Taiwan, is now postponed until November 22-26 2021.  READ MORE
EuroGeo7 Gearing Up For May

EuroGeo7 was due to take place in September this year at the historic Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, Poland. Health and safety concerns over the impact of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic led to organizers moving the event to May next year. It will now take place on May 16-19, 2021. READ MORE

XVIII Croce Lecture Delivered By Heinz Brandl – Roma, Italy 11 December 2019

The Italian Geotechnical Society (Associazione Geotecnica Italiana – AGI) organized the annual Croce Lecture on the 11th of December at the “Centro Congressi Frentani” in Roma (Italy). The Conference is dedicated to the memory of the late Professor Arrigo Croce, who was the first professor of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering in Italy, President of the AGI, and also Vice-President for Europe of the ISSMGE.
