The IGS continues to drive industry knowledge and education with the creation of a digital library. A task force was formed to build an online central database for a range of IGS-related materials that are ideal for reference, general information and research, as well as content that supports individual study and teaching. On-the-job opportunities for young members could be made more widely available across chapters following a survey by IGS Brazil. The IGS Young Members Committee is exploring ways to add value to membership for young people. A survey conducted by IGS Brazil has confirmed that opportunities to interact with our corporate members are among the top benefits valued by students. READ MORE

The 4th African Regional Conference on Geosynthetics is less than a year away! IGS Egypt (IGSE), one of the IGS’s newest Chapters, will host GeoAfrica 2022 on February 21-24, 2022. The conference theme is ‘Geosynthetics in Sustainable Infrastructures and Mega Projects’, reflecting the huge increase in the use of geosynthetics in mega-projects throughout the region. READ MORE

Registration is now open for the 4th International Conference on Transportation Geotechnics (4th ICTG), which will be held as a virtual event May 24 – 27, 2021 with co-sponsorship by the North American and International Geosynthetic Society. READ MORE



The IGS’s North American Chapter is pleased to announce its Supporting Organization role in Tailings and Mine Waste 21. The call for abstracts is open until March 15, 2021, with plans to hold an in-person conference Nov. 7-10 at the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta Canada. READ MORE
