Our Parent Education and Community Engagement (PE&CE) Team is hosting our third annual in-person Community Resource Fair, PE&CE, Bringing Irving Together, on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, from 10 AM - 2 PM at Nimitz High School. It is a free, family-friendly event for attendees.
We’ve had great participation in previous years thanks to the generosity of our incredible community. Our families have walked away with important information, connections, and invaluable resources.
Currently we are reaching out to businesses, non-profits, and district departments who would like to share their information and resources with our families. Our Career and Technical Education certification programs will be featured throughout the day to let our community know about all the incredible programs we offer.
If you are interested in hosting a booth, please register using this link and include any special requests. If you would like to go above and beyond to offer our parents special services at the fair, make sure to include this information in your registration. We want to provide as many opportunities and variety to our families as possible.
There will be a $100 fee for all for-profit businesses. This will allow us to provide food, at no cost to our families. The registration to be a vendor will close at 5pm on Friday, March 8th, 2024. Feel free to share this email with other local nonprofits and businesses that provide a great resource or service to our community.
We hope that you will join us for this exciting event!

The Learn About the Earned Income Tax Credit With Small Business for America's Future
Tax season is here and your employees may qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The EITC provides greater security for working Americans, especially for those with children – providing families with a financial boost while growing the economy and reducing poverty rates.
An estimated 20% of eligible taxpayers miss out on thousands of dollars by not claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit. Make sure you spread the word and ensure your team isn’t missing out on refundable credits.
Who is eligible for the EITC?
To qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, employees must:
· Have worked and earned a maximum income of $57,414 (see chart below)
· Have investment income below $10,000 for Tax Year 2021
· Have a valid Social Security number by the due date of their 2021 tax return
· Be a U.S. citizen or a resident alien all year
· Not file Form 2555 (related to foreign earned income)
