IHEN CHAIR’S REPORT
Mela Miroff, RN, MHA, FACHE
Did you know, by the end of the year, we will have offered 12 ACHE Face-to-Face credits (the maximum allowed by ACHE for any chapter)? Did you also notice we are offering the programs at a significantly lower cost than the past several years? Our Programs Committee has been working hard to bring more F2F sessions this year. I hope you have been able to take advantage of these offerings. After all, the improvements are a result of your feedback. Thank you to those who took the time to complete the annual Chapter Member Needs Survey. The IHEN Board is tasked to find ways to provide value to you and the members of our organization and the results of the survey help guide us as we continue to grow. If you did not get a chance to complete the survey and have any suggestions that would increase your engagement or help us improve, please let us know!
We would not have been able to provide the programs at the lower cost without the generosity of our 2018 sponsors Ice Miller (Premier), Heapy Engineering (Platinum) and Arc Design, Cornerstone, KSM and Wilhelm Construction (Gold). If you or your organization are interested in partnering with IHEN as a 2019 sponsor, please scroll down to the Sponsors section.
IHEN is continuing to evolve. Your input, engagement and participation is vital to the growth and success of the organization. Please keep an eye out for our emails on education programs, career development, networking, etc. I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events!

I am honored to have served in many capacities within IU Health for the past 15 years. I am currently the President of Indiana University Health – Frankfort in Clinton County. IUH Frankfort is one of six critical access hospitals within IU Health.
Q:
What is your favorite food?
A: "My grandmother’s roast beef and mashed potatoes with real butter. Thick-cut, maple infused bacon would be a close second place."
Q: How did you become involved with IHEN and its Board?
A:
"
While I was in graduate school, Sara Johnson told me about ACHE and the local chapter, IHEN, and suggested I look into them both. I was honored to serve on the IHEN board prior to starting a family, and again am thrilled to be back serving on the board now that my kids are school-aged."

I also lead the construction and development projects for Ambulatory."

Bipartisan Efforts to Modernize the Stark Law and Investigate Hospital Consolidation
Associate, Ice Miller LLP
It is no surprise that the current majority in Congress and the administration are actively looking for ways to rethink federal health care programs and policies. One of the major themes of the President's campaign was repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

EARLY CAREERIST GROUP SOCIAL
-2 Deep Brewing Company-
"During our kickoff social, it was encouraging to meet with so many healthcare professionals who represented different organizations and experience levels! The ECG Committee was excited to present ideas about future programs/events to such a diverse group and get real-time feedback. Our goal is to appeal to anyone who identifies as an Early Careerist and offer opportunities to expand participants’ knowledge, network, or community impact."
