Successful Scottish Extravaganza!
IHIF hosted members of the Scottish Lifesciences Association (SLA) here in Indiana throughout the month of May. We set 50 meetings on behalf of 10 Scottish companies - 22 of the meetings were with IHIF members! There are at least four NDA's and several contracts and proposals going back and forth. We are looking forward to welcoming many of our friends as new businesses in Indiana. This was a busy month and we are very grateful to all of you who helped host, meet, and support our visitors. We were able to make several new connections along the way and look forward to keeping the momentum going. A return visit is in the works for October, so please stay tuned for more!
Eiteljorg Museum Plans Scottish Exhibition
One of the interesting conversations that came out of the SLA visit in May was a connection to an upcoming exhibition at the Eiteljorg Museum of Native American Art in Indianapolis. In August 2023, the museum will feature the works of Alfred Jacob Miller - a Scottish landscape artist who sketched and painted scenes of the American West on behalf of his patron, Sir William Drummond Stewart. Originally displayed in Murthly Castle in Perthshire, Scotland, the collection has been reassembled and will be displayed as it would have appeared to Sir Stewart. The paintings show details of the Rendezvous - an important trading event for Native Americans, trappers, traders, and inhabitants of the American West in the 1800s. For more information on the exhibit or if you might have an interest in becoming a corporate sponsor, please learn more. IHIF and SLA are excited to help support this fascinating cultural connection!
