SISTERS SERVANTS OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
IHM Catholic Education Newsletter
MARCH 2023
Animated by the IHM Charism of Love, Creative Hope & Fidelity ... Embracing the Mission as Joyful Bearers of God's Redeeming Love!

Dear Friend,

As I listened to the Matthew West song, My Story Your Glory , these lines resonated: "So many parts that were so messed up, but I love the part where you showed up". Wow! Even in our weaknesses and "mess ups", we are loved abundantly! Perhaps this is a worthwhile Lenten message as we reflect on the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. God showed up...big time!

We have a God so ready to "show up" !

Asking our merciful and provident God to give you the wisdom and grace to embrace Your Story as God's Glory!
Sincerely,
Sister Stephen Anne IHM
In the tradition of St. Alphonsus Liguori and Redemptorist spirituality that influences the spirituality of the IHM Sisters, St. Joseph is a beloved patron of the IHM Congregation. Ask for his intercession in your needs and concerns. Since St. Joseph looked after Mary and Jesus he is prayed to for protection. St. Joseph certainly had his share of angst and challenges!

IHM VIRTUE of the MONTH
Self-Abnegation
In the IHM Sisters' tradition,we center ourselves this month on the virtue of self-abnegation or self-denial. It can't always be about us! Sometimes we need to give it up for another! Today, be someone else's saving grace!
LEADERSHIP CONNECTION
Micro-Friendships
Leaders know the value of encounter!
Leaders cultivate micro-friendships!

"These micro-friendships help to remind us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves, we are part of a community of connections. In these casual but meaningful connections we feel seen and acknowledged. They feel pleasant and comfortable but without any demand upon us that we give more of ourselves."

Embracing the Mission
A Work of Mercy
Did you know that Pope Francis added care for our common home as a work of mercy?
"May the works of mercy also include care for our common home," he said, explaining that as a spiritual work of mercy, care for creation "calls for a grateful contemplation of God's world which allows us to discover in each thing a teaching which God wishes to hand on to us."
As a corporal work of mercy, he said, it "requires simple daily gestures which break with the logic of violence, exploitation and selfishness and makes itself felt in every action that seeks to build a better world."
