SISTERS, SERVANTS OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

Animated by the IHM Charism ... Embracing the Mission With Love, Creative Hope & Fidelity...A Legacy of Grace!

Greetings!

As we come to the close of another school year, my heart is filled with deep gratitude for each of you. Your dedication, patience, and tireless efforts have shaped not only the minds but also the hearts of our students. You have been more than educators — you have been mentors, role models, and living witnesses of Christ’s love.

In a special way, I thank you for the ways you have reflected the compassion, mercy, and steadfast love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in your daily work. Whether in the classroom, the office, or behind the scenes, your service has been a true ministry, touching lives in ways that will bear fruit for years to come.

This year holds an even deeper spiritual significance, as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has dedicated our nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In this light, your work in forming young hearts and minds becomes part of a greater national call — to renew our country in Christ’s love and mercy.

As we step into the summer months, I pray that the Sacred Heart of Jesus will bless you abundantly — granting you rest, joy, and renewal. May His love surround you and your families, and may you return in the fall refreshed and inspired for the mission ahead.

With heartfelt appreciation and prayers,

Sister Mary Sue

End-of-Year Prayer Service in Honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Opening Greeting

Leader:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

All: Amen.

Leader:

As we gather to close this school year, we come with hearts full of gratitude — for the gift of learning, for the friendships we have shared, and for the dedication of our teachers, administrators, and staff. This year, we join the Church in a special way, as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops dedicates our nation’s 250th anniversary to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We place our school, our country, and our summer ahead into His loving care.

Scripture Reading (John 15:9–12)

"As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love… This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."

Reader: The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

Reflection (Leader or Student)

Briefly reflect on how the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a symbol of His boundless love — a love that inspires our teaching, learning, and service. Connect this to the mission of Catholic education and the call to renew our nation in Christ’s love.

Litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Leader: Sacred Heart of Jesus, Son of the Eternal Father,

All: Have mercy on us.

Leader: Sacred Heart of Jesus, burning furnace of charity,

All: Have mercy on us.

Leader: Sacred Heart of Jesus, patient and rich in mercy,

All: Have mercy on us.

Leader: Sacred Heart of Jesus, hope of those who trust in You,

All: Have mercy on us.

Leader: Sacred Heart of Jesus, King and center of all hearts,

All: Have mercy on us.

Prayer of Thanksgiving for Teachers and Administrators

Leader:

Lord Jesus, we thank You for the men and women who have served our school community this year. Bless our teachers with rest and renewal. Bless our administrators with wisdom and peace. May they always find joy in the seeds they have planted in young hearts.

All: Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in You.

Prayer for Our Nation

Leader:

Sacred Heart of Jesus, as our bishops dedicate our nation’s 250th anniversary to You, we pray for America. Heal divisions, guide our leaders, and inspire all people to live in truth, justice, and charity.

All: Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in You.

Closing Blessing

Leader:

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus watch over you this summer, keep you safe in His love, and bring you back together in joy.

All: Amen.

Closing Hymn (optional)

Choose a joyful hymn of praise or a Marian hymn to entrust the summer to Our Lady.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus,

I place my trust in You.

IHM CHARISM CONNECTION

CREATIVE HOPE

The IHM Charism, our unique way of being present to God's people, is defined by three graces: love, creative hope, and fidelity. We are always eager to share these graces with those around us in every circumstance!

With our Charism grace of CREATIVE HOPE, we place our confidence in God's Providence that what we think we can't do, we can accomplish by uniting our efforts to God's Providence! Creative hope gives us the spiritual energy to find a way when there seems to be no way. We don't settle for less when we are capable of much more; we don't settle for negativity or despair. Creative hope helps us to look to the future with fresh eyes and renewed vigor!
