VIRTUS Training is REQUIRED to Volunteer at IHM School

To volunteer at IHM School in any capacity, you must be VIRTUS trained. Simply go to VIRTUSonline.org to register. You can complete the training in minimal time online. You only need to do the training once and does not expire.

Hot Lunch Program

Those families wishing to receive or continue to receive free/reduced cost student lunches are required to fill out the application before October 1. You should have recieved paperwork in the mail from Catholic Central. If you're in need of the application, stop in at the school office to get it.

Phones and Wearable Tech Policy

Personal electronic devices, including cell phones, computers, tablets, portable media players, wireless headphones, etc. are NOT permitted in the school building. Students that need to bring a personal device for use before or after school will be provided a secure place in the office to store the device during school hours. The preference of the school is for students to keep their devices at home. In addition, wearable technology is not permitted at school per the dress code policy. Students will be permitted to communicate with their parents via the school office phone, and parents can call the office to communicate with their children should the need arise.

In Search of a "Door Dad" on Thursdays

We are looking for a dad that would be willing to hold the doors open for kids as they are dropped off at school in the morning from 7:40-8:00 am on Thursdays only. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Lake.

Student Medication:

If your child(ren) needs to take medication during the school day, a form giving us permission and instructions is required. Please bring their medication to the school office and fill out that form.

Join Our Parish Children's Choirs!

We're excited to welcome all young singers to our parish children's choirs this fall to sing, shine, and grow in faith and music!

Seedling Choir: Grades K-2, rehearses Wednesdays, 3:30-4:00 PM in the church (IHM students meet in the Demazenod Room after school and walk over together)
Gregory Choir: Grades 3-8 (new this year - now open to grades 7-8!), rehearses Wednesdays, 4:00-4:45 PM in the church

Our choirs sing at select weekend Masses, learning beautiful music, growing in faith, and having fun together. No auditions - just a love of singing and a joyful heart. Come help us make a joyful noise to the Lord!

IHM Men’s Ministry is taking the lead on a parish opportunity to kickoff the 2025-26 academic year with a Holy Hour. We are so blessed at IHM. Let us ask for the intercession of the Church’s newest saints, St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, and St. Pier Giorgio Frassati as we offer the sacrifice of our time to our Blessed Mother in honor of her birthday.

Help spread the word; let’s fill the Church!

YOU are invited to join the IHM Catholic Moms Group, formed to study the Word of God, while encouraging one another to create a Catholic home. Our weekly meetings will resume Wednesday Aug 27 in the church basement following the 9:00 am All School Mass. We meet from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm each Wednesday morning with our babies and toddlers. Please message Christine Bower at 616-633-5606 with questions and to get on the email list! We will see you there!

From the Principal's Desk

Hello IHM Families!

What an AMAZING first week we have had! I'm beyond grateful for the gift of cooler weather as we start back to school. After that hot hot summer I was worried! The prayer partner teacher committee did a wonderful job planning the start of the program this year with a small consecration assembly at the end of the day today. Students have a different Marian Apparition than last year to learn about and celebrate and a new shirt! Today is the feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, so what a perfect day for the consecration!

We are still working on our St. Carlo Acutis technology lab! It is coming together nicely and we are excited to share it as soon as it's ready. Blessed Carlo Acutis gets cannonized September 7, so it's a great time to dedicate our lab to him.
