Autumn Frolic
By S. Suzanne Scattergood
The joyful leaves dart through the trees
Like dancing butterflies.
And Mother Nature changes clothes
Before your very eyes.
The russets, greens and yellow shades
Will soon be turning brown,
And Mother Nature, sad but true,
Will wear a winter gown.
The robin's voice so soft and sweet
Will all but disappear,
And winter rains so somberly
Will shed a silver tear,
But each of you must wear a smile
Because in just a little while,
Lady Springtime will arrive
And colors will again revive.
