Wishing you a happy, healthy, and blessed 2025!
Snow Holiday
By S. Marian Bernadette Chuk
The cold caw of the coal-colored crow
Fills the frigid air.
Trees decked in their dainty white wear
Bow before the whistling wind.
I wander on the white walk
And feel the crunchy crystals around my feet.
I shovel the sidewalk
And sing a song of gladness to my God.

December was a special time for our sisters at Camilla Hall!
Benefactors, visitors, prayer partners, schools, special guests, and performers certainly shared the light of Christ’s love in unique ways with the sisters. Immaculata University Carolers helped begin the Advent Season. Youth groups and school carolers from St. Anastasia, SS. Philip and James, Bishop Shanahan, the Seminary, and St. Mary’s filled the halls with song. On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Capt’n Chucky (Chuck Wojciehowski) and his family were honored at the magnificent feast day meal at Camilla. The feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass was celebrated in a special way with a choir of our Spanish speaking sisters and lay staff. A piano concert by Fr. Denis Wilde, OSA, a performance by the Notables and the annual Christmas pageant by St. Charles Borromeo school children added to the Christmas spirit. A wonderful time was had by all!

This exhibit honors the courage and strength of women from diverse backgrounds and eras who lived with passion and compassion. Through these portraits, we celebrate their fidelity, endurance, and the many ways they shared their talents and gifts with the world.

A Prayer for Our Earth
By Pope Francis
All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty. Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one. O God of the poor, help us rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this Earth, so precious in your eyes. Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction. Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the Earth. Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united with every creature as we journey towards your infinite light.
We thank you for being with us each day. Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love, and peace. Amen.
