Linda Bazinet Shares Material From Her New Con Ed Course

Join us Tuesday May 2, 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT for a 1 hour webinar as Linda Bazinet explains the answer to Why Is This Mouse Fat? Control of appetite and energy balance is complex. However, the fat mouse has a simple problem—it is unable to synthesize the hormone leptin. We will look at the history of leptin and it’s role in regulating our appetite and body weight. We will also look at ghrelin which in many ways is opposite to leptin. In fact, ghrelin is known as the “hunger hormone”. In addition, we will look at other hormones that are involved in appetite and energy balance including the digestive hormone cholecystokinin (CCK). The key role of the appetite center in the hypothalamus will also be discussed.

During her 1 hours Guest Speaker talk on Tuesday March 28, Sofia Pistrila introduced the topic of the Methylation Cycle and Folate Pathway. Methylation has a critical role in gene expression, energy, metabolism, detoxification, immunity and behavioural development. It also plays life-changing functions in physical and mental health. If you are a practitioner, you may have experience with adults whose symptomatology and labs display a wide range of possible chronic disease states or children with neonatal disorders that parents agonize over correcting. You may have tried multiple strategies–to no avail. If this sounds familiar, this webinar will give you a start in understanding the intricacies of the Methylation Cycle and Folate Pathway and their application in practice for effective results.

This is the second and last run of Lisa's course this year! In February, she had a Waitlist that held more registrants than she had seats for, so we're running the course again. Her private practice and Vykon (her powder supplement business based on HTMA analysis) is growing exponentially with all three of her pillars: human, dog and equine! Lisa refers to minerals as the foundation of the home that need to be kept in check in order to make sure “the house is strong and stable.” HTMA testing along with bloodwork from your client’s doctor can give a practitioner a clearer picture of protocol development. In a single hair sample, the tissue is stable over time and provides several months of biochemical activity versus just a snapshot from blood work.

Big things come in small packages. This could not be truer for sprouts. In a June 7, 2022 article (3 minute read), Emily Ho, professor and director of the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University, explains, “Five-to seven-day-old seed sprouts can often offer more nutrition benefits than the mature plants.” Author, KC Wright, adds “The health benefits of sprouts include improved digestion of both carbohydrates and proteins.” These miniature vegetables certainly pack a powerful punch with each bite. Do you grow your own sprouts?
