Digital Acceptance Packages Are Landing For New Students! | Contrary to the vibe of August as a vacation month, it's anything but at IHN. It's one of our busiest times of the year, with all hands on deck, to work through the final details for everyone joining us for our LIVE program starting September 8, along with our SELF-PACED cohort. | You might have joined us for a Q&A, met 1:1 with a Program Advisor, read through our brochures or were a Student for the Day. You’ve done your research, asked the questions, compared your options and spent time thinking about whether IHN is right for you. | If your application is still sitting on your desk, now is the time to send it in. | Once you do, your registration can be completed and we can finally issue your Acceptance Package. You can get your textbooks ordered, receive your student ID, prepare your study cards and think about how to make your academic space take shape. Remember to clear your Tuesday September 8 so that you can join all of us for your full Orientation day. From there, your thirst for accredited knowledge in holistic nutrition stops being something you’ve been planning for, and becomes something you're officially immersed in. 🍎 | Your Interests. Your Goals. Your Experience. | After nearly three decades of developing Co-op relationships and thousands of student and placement-partner experiences, IHN has built an experiential learning program unmatched in holistic nutrition education. Knowing the theory matters. Having the opportunity to put it into practice and discover where you can take it is what makes the difference. | Every IHN student graduates with real experience in the field because our 100 hour Co-operative Education Placement isn't an add-on—it's a requirement of the Diploma. Do students do more? Absolutely. Many complete two or three placements, graduating with hundreds of hours of practical experience. Multiple Co-ops allow you to layer your skills, explore different professional environments and expand your network. No other holistic nutrition program has developed Co-op to the depth and scope that IHN has, with a dedicated department creating individualized placements across the natural health and wellness field—locally, nationally and internationally. | Designed Around Where You Want To Go | As you approach the end of the program, you'll meet one-on-one with IHN's Co-op department to explore your professional interests, career goals and what you want from the experience. From there, our team works with you to develop a guided professional placement that reflects the practitioner you want to become, the additional skills and knowledge you want to gain, or an area of holistic health you simply want to explore. And if you've come to IHN primarily for your own knowledge and personal health advocacy, your Co-op can reflect that too. You can choose from opportunities within our extensive partner network or bring us an idea of your own and we'll work with you to explore how to make it a reality. | No two Co-ops look alike. IHN students have worked in private practice with their peers and naturopathic clinics, health food and supplement environments, natural health product sales and marketing, education, public speaking, research and writing, social media, sustainable agriculture, detox, yoga retreats. Placements can extend into multidisciplinary clinics, corporate wellness, energy medicine, food insecurity initiatives, Indigenous gardens, land-based programs, influencer and online program development to serving marginalized and low-income communities. From children to seniors. Vegan to carnivore. Remote or in-person. Athletic performance to healthy aging. Clinical to culinary. Common to complex health conditions. Personal advocacy to professional practice. The possibilities are as individual as the students who pursue them. | Build Experience. Open Possibilities. | You won't simply watch from the sidelines either. Co-op combines direct observation, hands-on work with professional mentorship to build real-world confidence. Placements can lead to full-time, part-time and contract paid roles, ongoing professional collaborations and partnerships. | Your IHN education can take you in more directions than you may have imagined. Register for the Diploma in Holistic Nutrition and start discovering where yours will lead. | Are your clients overwhelmed by conflicting nutritional advice, from keto and fasting to plant-based diets, and increasingly discouraged by the results they are getting on their own? Are they considering using pharmaceutical options to jump-start their metabolism, while also worrying about the long-term effects? | Watch the replay of IHN faculty member Tahlia Sage's introductory webinar on the Advanced Metabolic & Endocrine Framework, IHN's continuing education course that gives holistic practitioners a root-cause approach to complex metabolic cases and helps clients make sustainable progress without compromising their health or nutrition. | |
• Why restrictive diets, extreme fasting, and quick pharmaceutical fixes often fall short
• The mindset and symptom barriers that keep clients from following through
• Assessing metabolic health through endocrine, digestive, and inflammatory lenses
• Why complex metabolic cases need more than a one-size-fits-all approach
• How the program helps you build personalized strategies for clients who feel stuck
| Watch Tahlia's ConEd Replay On YouTube: | We Asked: Is there anything you would like to share about your experience at IHN so far? | My experience at IHN has been so life changing. The amount of new knowledge I’ve gained over these past 2 years has been incredible! My favourite course so far has been Symptomatology 1. I absolutely loved creating the protocols and putting all of my knowledge together to build my first one. This course is where I truly developed the confidence to become a practitioner! All the courses are amazing, but this one really stood out for me. | Learning Outcomes After Completing This Con Ed Course: | • Demonstrate how genetic variation shapes dietary needs, nutrient metabolism, fitness response, weight regulation, cardiovascular function, detoxification, gut–brain health, bone integrity, and hormonal balance. Then connect those insights to epigenetic modifiers such as breathwork and meditation, hormesis (heat/cold, fasting, exercise), circadian rhythm and light exposure, environmental inputs, and Blue Zones–inspired lifestyle habits to design practical, personalized interventions. | • Apply genetic testing within a clear, systematic framework to create personalized health plans that optimize client outcomes with a higher degree of precision and effectiveness. | • Integrate genetic data with a client’s terrain, symptoms, nutrition, and lifestyle factors, viewing genes as part of a whole interconnected system rather than isolated pathways. | • Replace generalized recommendations with targeted, strategic approaches, removing guesswork from nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. | • Gain a deep understanding of epigenetics, how lifestyle, environment, nutrition, stress, and mindset influence gene expression, and learn to design recommendations that support optimal genetic pathways, supporting healing, resilience, and long-term vitality. | • Expand your clinical capacity and deepen client trust combining genetic and epigenetic insights to develop dynamic, evolving health strategies that adapt to the client’s unique biology and changing needs over time. | Did You Catch Caroline's Replay? | Clinical Skills in Metabolic Assessment & Endocrine Intervention | Advance your clinical skills with a practical, integrative framework for addressing metabolic dysfunction at its roots. You'll learn how to assess metabolic health using key lab markers and clinical patterns, identify the subtypes and barriers that stall client progress, and apply targeted nutrition, fasting, and supplement strategies. From weight and energy concerns to insulin resistance and chronic inflammation, you'll gain the tools to deliver more personalized, sustainable results. | 🍑 Looking for a delicious way to enjoy peach season? | Our talented graduate @nutritiouslynicole has created a delicious Peach Crumble that’s gluten-free, vegan, and made without refined sugar! | With juicy peaches, warming cinnamon, almond flour, oats, and a touch of maple syrup, this is an easy seasonal treat to enjoy warm on its own or topped with your favourite vanilla ice cream or yogurt. ✨ | 🌿 We love seeing our graduates bring their knowledge and creativity into the kitchen! | |
