We had a tech issue with the upload of Marla's talk and had to take it down and re-upload. YouTube won't let us use the old URL. So what you received last week isn't going to work for you anymore. The new link to YouTube (below) is what you'll want to bookmark! | On Wednesday, February 12, Marla Samuel presented a webinar on the impact of chronic stress on overall health, from hormones to mental well-being. While we naturally adapt to challenges like trauma and major life transitions, the deeper triggers of the "stress response" (HPA-Axis) and their long-term effects are often overlooked. Research shows that 75-90% of modern diseases are linked to these stress mechanisms, influencing both physical and mental health.
• The "top-down approach" in nutritional practice
• HPA-Axis triggers and neuromodulation techniques
• Mindset-based and somatic approaches
• Treatment strategies for stress-related conditions including depression, PTSD, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune conditions

What brought you to study Holistic Nutrition at IHN? | In 2019 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, after years of bouncing from doctor to doctor, knowing something was wrong. The cancer had metastasized and I had my thyroid removed, but went with my gut and refused radiation. Instead, I started working with an IHN graduate to understand root causes and to truly heal. This was the start of my love affair with holistic nutrition. | Have a jar of jam tucked away in the freezer from summer’s bounty? 🍑 This Lemon Apricot Vinaigrette by our super grad, McKenna, is the perfect way to put it to delicious use! Sweet, tangy, and oh-so-refreshing, it’s a versatile addition to any salad or dish 😋 | “I was gifted homemade apricot jam a while back & it’s made its way into a handful of recipes now but I REALLY loved it as a vinaigrette. It’s fruity & refreshing, sweet, but not too sweet.
Lemon Apricot Vinaigrette 🍋😍
¼ c olive oil
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp apricot jam (or preserves)
1 tbsp ACV (didn’t make the vid, oops)
Pinch of sea salt
For best results, make sure the jam is at room temp, it’ll mix easier.
| PS 👉 you can sub the apricot for another fruit like strawberries, raspberries, even mango! And if you have none of the above, save this recipe to come back to!!" | | | | |
