Cannabis has been used as a medicine for centuries, but only recently has cannabis become mainstream as a treatment option. This course will provide a clinical overview of cannabis education and its healing properties in culinary applications. Participants will learn about the different types of cannabis, how it works in the body, the various ways to consume it, and how to make your own cannabis preparations with CBD. Outcomes of the course will give the practitioner a strong base knowledge, that will answer most questions about using cannabis in practice. It will allow for confidence in considering cannabis for clients in daily use through CBD infusions, salves, topicals and edibles.

LIVE, Real-Time Instruction Recorded For Your Convenience

Want to take one of IHN's Con Ed courses but can't make the date or time, for several or all of the classes? You can learn through recordings. Recordings are sent out the day after the session, for you to watch at your convenience, before the next class. All links to the lessons are active until four weeks after the course ends. Our Con Ed courses are not pre-recorded, they are updated yearly and taught in real-time. That means that our questions for the faculty member can be answered via email, directly at the top of the next class. WhatsApp or Facebook groups are made to bring peers taking the class, together.

The only component of the course that needs to be done on the same day as the other students, or proctored by administration at a time that works for you, are the tests and/or exam. Some courses have take-home assignments, in lieu of the test. Our Con Ed courses have been accessed by students all over the world. There is full administrative support! IHN's Con Ed programming invites holistic nutritionists or natural health practitioners from all schools and programs across Canada, the US and the world.

During his 1 hour webinar on October 17, Dr. Shawn Meirovici broke down the incredible Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is a complex network of chemicals and receptors that help to regulate many different functions in the human body. This system is responsible for maintaining homeostasis, or balance, in the body. The ECS has a profound and largely unknown effect, by practitioner and public, on intestinal health and other chronic diseases. Cannabinoids help to modulate the endocannabinoid system and promote health and wellness. In this webinar, we will discuss the role of the endocannabinoid system in health and its potential therapeutic applications.

Digital "Print" Material For Potential Students

Every year, we would meet potential students at amazing consumer health events like Toronto's Total Health Show, Whole Life Expo and Vancouver's Wellness Show and CanFit Pro. And every year, we would hand out our latest full colour brochures. We spend an awful long time making them as distinct, bold, beautiful and as delicious as the field of holistic nutrition! Brochures are now only digital, so if you still have yours as a potential student, it might now be an IHN collector's item! The 2022-2023 edition includes information on the Holistic Nutrition movement, a Program Overview, Admission Requirements, Careers, our current Rules and Regulations, the Curriculum and IHN's Faculty along with all the information you need about Tuition, Fees and Schedules. Use it to review, so that when you attend a Program Advising session you are able to articulate a full suite of questions you want answered!

What is all the buzz about bee propolis? Propolis, also known as “bee glue”, is a resinous substance obtained by bees from various plants to help build the beehive; however, it may have medicinal benefits in humans. In an October 4, 2022 article (6 minute read) with apiarist Daniel Sullivan, author Holly Regan shared “studies have found propolis to have similar antimicrobial properties in human bodies, fighting infections and respiratory ailments, coating the throat and sealing wounds.” As one of the world’s oldest medicines, propolis remains one of nature’s most popular remedies–from their hive to your home.

Since we all love mac and cheese, and since we can never have too many ways to prepare spaghetti sqaush, you're going to love this mac and cheese created with spaghetti squash pasta. Now please keep in mind when you make this, it contains neither the mac nor the cheese, but it's amazingly delicious. We recommend this Spaghetti Squash Mac and Cheese by IHN graduate, Meghan Telpner.
