IHNA Friends - Just a reminder to come join us this coming Monday for what will be a memorable evening!
Please RSVP if you haven't already done so (see below).
Karen Olson, Founder and President of Family Promise, our national parent organization, will be the guest speaker at our Family Promise Week/IHNA Volunteer Recognition Night - Monday, October 19th, 6 p.m., Athens Central Presbyterian Church, 380 Alps Road, Athens, GA.
Starting with a few sandwiches she gave out to homeless folks on her way to work in New York City in the 1980's, Karen Olson has overseen the growth of an organization that now numbers 192 IHN's in more than 40 states around the country. Since that initial act of caring kindness, we have now collectively served more than 600,000 homeless guests.
What a perfect way to celebrate the start of our 12th year of service here in Athens, and to recognize the more than 700 volunteers who are the heart and soul of our organization!
Our evening will include a delicious dinner provided by the Family and Consumer Science Class at Clarke Middle School, and gift coupons from Jittery Joe's for all of our volunteers.
