Dear IHNA Friends: As we head into the busy fall season - back to school, football, holidays - it is indeed a busy (and wonderful) time at Interfaith Hospitality as well. So much going on, so much to look forward to.

TEARDROP BIKE RIDE: Let me begin with a giant thank you shout-out to everyone who made our 5th Annual Teardrop Century Bike Ride, held this past Saturday, such a great success. More than 150 riders came out and helped raise enough money to take care of our guest families for a full month. Think what that means, to have a month of warm and safe places to stay, food to eat, and all the loving care and support needed to help them get back on their feet and on the way to sustainable independence.

Please say thank you to our Teardrop Presenting Sponsors: The Hub Bicycles, Jittery Joe's Coffee, and Virginia McKenna, Licensed Professional Counselor; our Major Sponsors: Zaxby's and the Hamilton Agency; and all of our sponsors and supporters: see the complete list at  http://www.ihnathens.org/teardrop-bike-ride.html.

Our bike ride could not have happened without the loving help of dozens of volunteers at registration, sag stops, in sag vehicles, in the office, and behind the scenes; our IHNA staff and interns; and our incredible board.

GOLF TOURNAMENT: Not to let any grass grow under our feet (pun intended), please check out the details below for our 12th Annual "Whole-in-One" Golf Tournament, Monday, October 12th, at Jennings Mill Country Club.

FAMILY PROMISE WEEK/VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION NIGHT: We are very excited to share with everyone that Karen Olson, Founder and President of Family Promise ( www.familypromise.org), our national parent organization, will be coming to speak with us at our annual Family Promise Week/Volunteer Appreciation Night event on Monday, October 19th. We are finalizing the location now, but book your calendars for 6 p.m. on the 19th, and plan to join us - you will be inspired! This is also our opportunity to recognize and thank all of our amazing IHNA volunteers. We'll have food provided by Clarke Middle School, and gifts for all of our volunteers.
