Nominations closing soon for Driver and Safety Professional of the Year
Nominations for the FSC Driver of the Year and Safety Professional of the Year awards will close on Tuesday, June 30. Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence and leadership in fleet safety.
Regional winners will advance to the provincial awards, sponsored by TruckRight, that will be presented at the Annual Networking Reception on Thursday, October 22.

The FSC online store is back! You can order exclusive FSC-branded clothing, office items, and thoughtful gifts for chapter speakers. Place your order by Monday, June 15 to ensure members receive their items in July.

Delivery: Select your chapter when you place your order. Once the FSC receives the orders, they will make arrangements to ship the order to you.

Auditor General report highlights critical truck training gaps
Ontario’s Auditor General has identified serious shortcomings in commercial truck driver training and licensing, citing weak oversight that has allowed some underqualified drivers on the road.
The report found instances of reduced training hours, falsified records, and missed instruction on key driving skills across some training providers. It also noted insufficient inspection and monitoring of training schools. The province has accepted all recommendations and committed to strengthening oversight and enforcement to improve safety.

New resources for major sports events from Truckers Against Trafficking

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration launches new registration system
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) launched a new registration
system, called Motus, on Thursday, May 14, to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and strengthen oversight across the industry.
The FMCSA advised carriers to review and update company records, insurance filings, and user access ahead of the transition to ensure accuracy and security. Carriers should continue to verify their information within the FMCSA portal and maintain up‑to‑date records to remain compliant under the new system.
