Group Q&A:
Before the main presentation, please plan to be a part of our group Q&A session. During this 15 minute session, we'll open the meeting for any Business Analysis questions, or questions related to the evening's topic. This is your chance to leverage the massive collective experience of the chapter to address questions or problems you are facing as a BA and would like to get the groups input. You may also be the one with just the right piece of information or advice for a question raised to the group.

Message from the Chapter Board
by Alissa Johnson, VP Marketingmountain_snow_lake.jpg
There's a nip in the morning air and school has started; it's officially Fall!
But while the light in the evenings still lingers, I am finding it difficult to motivate my youngster to come inside and apply himself to homework. I've also found it difficult to apply myself to studies, despite a strong desire to improve my current situation. I personally feel a bit behind in my career development, having been complacent until fairly recently, and I now feel an urgency to apply myself more diligently going forward. To that end, I have been reading the BABOK Guide v3, the Agile Extension, and taking advantage of the various IIBA online opportunities, to learn as much as I can about how organizations use business analysts. This process has helped me gain confidence in describing my current and past business analyst roles, and I've come to appreciate the great variety of opportunities that are available within the business analysis profession.

If you also find yourself in need of career development, IIBA membership provides multiple pathways to help, including:
  • Local IIBA Chapter meetings; the next will be on September 19th where our VP of Education will be presenting an interactive exercise on Business Process Mapping;
  • IIBA Online Library, Career Center, and Webinars;
  • networking opportunities;
  • And the on-going Denver Chapter BABOK 3.0 study group, which currently meets every other Thursday evening.

We would like to the thank the Business Tech Center for their involvement with the IIBA Denver Chapter. The BTC currently has an exclusive offer for IIBA members - get 15% off the rental rate!
