Letter from the President

The Canadian Chapter of IKECA is growing and going strong. More members have joined IKECA within the last year and we are very close to having an IKECA member in every province across Canada.
We are very proud to have a Canadian AHJ on the AHJ Committee for the Association. We would also like to invite other AHJs to get involved and to be part of this important Life Safety Committee. The IKECA logo and the IKECA Certification is also becoming more widely known and accepted among AHJs in northern Ontario and the Western provinces.
The Canadian Chapter has recently started Subcommittees and I would like to invite all members to become more involved with these committees. We are looking for assistances in the area of content development, AHJ recruitment and Canadian member recruitment.  Please contact IKECA headquarters to get more involved:
If you have any thoughts or wishes from your Canadian Chapter, please don't hesitate to forward them to us and we will be more than happy to follow up with you.
Bill Doherty, Canadian Chapter President

Exams to be Proctored by Translators

In an effort to meet the needs of our members whose primary language is not English, the Certification Committee has approved exams to be proctored by third-party translators!

In coming weeks we will send out details on how to take an exam with a translator, stay tuned!

NEW Online CEU Courses

IKECA has developed a new online CEU course through WellNet Solutions, IKECA Quiz Module 1 - NFPA 96 2011! This course is now available for 0.1 CEUs at $35.

In addition, the new  Link2eLearning Web Portal offers other online CEU courses in multiple languages! Take advantage of these new opportunities IKECA has to offer.

AHJ  Complimentary Membership

Great news! Based on the direction of the IKECA AHJ Committee, IKECA's Board of Directors unanimously passed a motion granting complimentary memberships to all publicly-funded authorities having jurisdiction, furthering our commitment to fire prevention and life safety by promoting kitchen exhaust cleaning to a higher standard. Spread the word to all your local AHJs!
