Feb. 2, 2023 | We appreciate Jones Day for hosting Keith Staats' quarterly meeting this afternoon! While Staats gave our audience a legislative update, Jennifer Waryjas of Jones Day presented how cryptocurrency affects unclaimed property. Allen Mayer and Ashton Kulavic from Illinois State Treasurer Mike Frerichs office offered an update on unclaimed property and self-audits.

Mar. 1, 2023 | Illinois Chamber Senior VP of Govt. Affairs Clark Kaericher, testified in the IL - House Judiciary - Civil Committee- on HB 2231:
 
“Ridesharing companies like Uber and Lyft are vital for the state’s economy, said Kaericher. "They create tens of thousands of well-paid jobs. They help both business travelers and tourists get around Illinois. More importantly, they are public safety tools, having kept thousands of potential drunk drivers off the roadways.”
Mar. 7, 2023 | Illinois Chamber’s Sr. VP, Clark Kaericher spoke to Nick Blumberg with WTTW - Chicago PBS on the Chamber's opposition to the newly proposed “common carrier” bill. According to Kaericher, increased regulation may cause ridesharing firms to reduce service or leave the state. This will cost drivers their jobs, make it more expensive for passengers, and less safe for all travelers. The bill passed the House Judiciary Committee and will be heard for more debate.
Mar. 6, 2023 | Illinois stands to take advantage of an important economic development tool.
Mar. 9, 2023 | Kelly Thompson, executive director of IERG and Andrew Cunningham, executive director of IL Chamber’s Infrastructure Council, testified this morning in a hearing on HB 3017 amending the Business Assistance and Regulatory Reform Act to create a permitting portal for large-scale projects. The bill passed out of the committee unanimously.
