Reminder: Your Input Is Needed for Critical

Insurance Survey

The NLA shared an important survey this week to gather valuable insights into industry insurance practices from chauffeured transportation operators. Your feedback is critical to understand the current commercial auto insurance landscape and can help shape future initiatives and support for our industry.

The NLA is collaborating with the University Transportation Research Center (UTRC) at the City University of New York to develop a report on the current state of insurance throughout the U.S. and propose measures to reduce costs. By sharing your experiences and insights, you will contribute to a better understanding of our industry's challenges and needs.

All ILLBA members are encouraged to take a few minutes to complete this very important survey. The NLA is taking the lead on gathering industry data that we hope will directly impact the insurance landscape and possibly ease the burden of the rising premiums we all feel every day.

Chicago O’Hare Gate Shuffle: United Gains Six, Competitors Face Cuts

Source: The Bulkhead Seat

April 11, 2025

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is a hub for both American Airlines and United Airlines. United has been consistently growing at the airport and will offer the most seats it has flown in 20 years while American has retreated a bit.

Crain’s reports that United called for six more gates under a new “fly it or lose it” provision in the lease between the airlines and the city. This looks like it will be granted and United will maintain its status as the airport’s largest carrier. With this addition, American Airlines is set to shed four of its gates. American has been trying to catch-up and will increase the number of flights to/from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) by more than 20% this summer (equal pre-pandemic levels, but behind United).

Seemingly urgent security messages could lead to tech support scams

You’re online and get a message or pop-up alerting you to a problem with your computer. The message might even say or suggest it’s from Microsoft, Apple, or Geek Squad. Should you click immediately to see what it’s about? No, and here’s why.

That urgent pop-up message saying there’s something wrong with your computer could be a way to get you into a tech support trap. Scammers impersonate well-known companies to get you to trust them and call. What happens next? If you click on the link or call a phone number in a pop-up warning, they might say your device is infected (which is a lie). Then they’ll try to sell you a “solution” (which is a scam) and ask you to pay for a bogus tech support service.
