Your Input Is Needed for Critical

Insurance Survey

The NLA shared an important survey this week to gather valuable insights into industry insurance practices from chauffeured transportation operators. Your feedback is critical to understand the current commercial auto insurance landscape and can help shape future initiatives and support for our industry.

The NLA is collaborating with the University Transportation Research Center (UTRC) at the City University of New York to develop a report on the current state of insurance throughout the U.S. and propose measures to reduce costs. By sharing your experiences and insights, you will contribute to a better understanding of our industry's challenges and needs.

All ILLBA members are encouraged to take a few minutes to complete this very important survey. The NLA is taking the lead on gathering industry data that we hope will directly impact the insurance landscape and possibly ease the burden of the rising premiums we all feel every day.

Choose Chicago names new CEO to lead city’s tourism agency

Chicago Tribune, April 3, 2025

After a yearlong search, Chicago has chosen a New York destination marketing executive to lead the city’s tourism efforts.

Kristen Reynolds, 51, who has been president and CEO of Discover Long Island for nearly a decade, will head west to take the same role at Choose Chicago, the agency tasked with promoting the city as a travel destination.

Moving on from a successful run on Long Island, an expansive and populous region stretching from the outer boroughs of New York City to seaside resort communities like the Hamptons, Reynolds is ready for the challenge and opportunity of building back Chicago’s tourism numbers in the post-pandemic landscape.

Online search results:

The good, the bad, and the scammy

Online search results can offer significant benefits to consumers, helping people find what they’re looking for. But online search results are also used by scammers to steer you in the wrong direction.

In fact, scammers sometimes use paid search results to trick you. They might use another company’s name, include the name of a government service, or use misleading tag lines to make you think you’re dealing with someone else. They might even put their number alongside a trusted company’s name or link to a website that looks official to steer you away from the business or government agency you were looking for. Their goal is to get your money or your personal or financial information to steal your identity.
