Do You Know? City Of Chicago Minimum Wage Laws


Every July 1, Chicago’s minimum wage increases per the Minimum Wage Ordinance. The Chicago minimum wage is tiered for large businesses with 21 or more employees, and small businesses with 4 to 20 employees. The minimum wage for larger employees increases annually according to the Consumer Price Index or 2.5%, whichever is lower. The minimum wage as of July 1, 2023 are:

  •  $15.80 for employers with 21 or more employees (including all domestic workers, regardless of the number employed)    
  • $15.00 for employers with 4 to 20 employees   
  • The minimum wage for tipped employees will be $9.48 for employers with 21 or more employees, and $9.00 for employers with 4 to 20 employees (employers must make up the difference between any tips received and the applicable minimum wage for non-tipped workers.)

 The reconstruction and modernization of the Jane Byrne and Weber Road interchanges have won top honors among Midwest states in the America's Transportation Awards. Revitalization of the aged Byrne turned one of the nation's slowest, most congested highway freight bottlenecks into a thriving multimodal corridor for businesses, residences and other local attractions, while an innovative reimagining of the Weber Road interchange with a diverging-diamond design significantly improved mobility to accommodate rising traffic volumes, a population influx and a burgeoning economy.

US Will Resolve Tesla Autopilot Probe, Could Make Announcement Soon, Official Says


WASHINGTON, Aug 25 (Reuters) - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will resolve its two-year investigation into Tesla (TSLA.O) Autopilot and could make a public announcement soon, the agency's acting head told Reuters.

"We'll get to a resolution (of the Tesla probe)," Acting NHTSA Administrator Ann Carlson told Reuters in an interview at the agency's headquarters.

Speaking broadly of advanced driver assistance systems, she said: "It's really important that drivers pay attention. It's also really important that driver monitoring systems take into account that humans over-trust technology."
