KENNEDY EXPRESSWAY BRIDGE REHABILITATION PROJECT 

Final phase of project begins March 17

March – Mid-July

Reversible express lanes will remain outbound only.

• Two left lanes closed from Division Street to Kostner Avenue.

• Outbound express lane users must exit onto Edens Expressway. First exit will be Edens Expressway at Foster Avenue.

• Outbound O’Hare Airport traffic must stay on mainline; there is no O’Hare exit from the express lanes.

2025-2026 Board Elections - Nominations Are Open !


It's that time of year again!


Are you ready to volunteer, share your industry expertise, advocate for our membership and support the mission of the ILLBA?


There are five (5) open board seats (including one vendor/supplier seat) for the upcoming board of directors election.


This year's Nominating Committee Coordinator is Lynn Kafkes.


Qualifications per the ILLBA Bylaws:


  • ILLBA member (operator or vendor) in good standing for two (2) consecutive years prior to election  (for exception consideration, please contact Lynn Kafkes, Nominating Committee Chair)


  • Timely payment of dues prior to submission of the Slate of Candidates by the Nominating Committee


  • Terms are for two years


If you (or someone you know) has a desire and willingness to get involved and give back to the industry, please contact Lynn Kafkes for nomination details.


Deadline for nominations is Friday March 28th, 5pm CDT

Spirit Airlines Restructures Following Bankruptcy to Focus on Premium Travel


Spirit Airlines emerged from its financial restructuring following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week, aimed at restoring the budget airline to profitability with a new approach focusing on premium travel experiences. 

The airline declared bankruptcy in November 2024 and has remained largely in operation throughout the bankruptcy period, though it has furloughed several hundred airline pilots in the interim. It was the first American airline to declare bankruptcy since 2011.
