Chicago Ford Plant To picket As UAW Strike Spreads

The United Auto Workers strike that began Sept. 15 at limited locations for the Detroit Three automakers spread to Chicago on Friday as the union sent workers to the picket lines at Ford’s South Side assembly plant.

Union President Shawn Fain made the announcement about the expanded strike action on Facebook Live. He said it would also begin a walkout at a General Motors plant near Lansing, Mich.

A First From Midway: Airport Lounge Arriving In 2024

Chicago’s Midway Airport is an outlier among major airports because it’s never had a passenger lounge in its 95-year-history. That will change in the fall of 2024 when “Club MDW” as it’s being called opens at the southwest side airport.

“This new lounge in the heart of Midway is the next step in elevating the passenger experience,” Chicago aviation commissioner Jamie Rhee is quote as saying in a press release.
