LIVERY VEHICLE LICENSE RENEWAL STARTS OCTOBER 1, 2025

The Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) is reminding all livery vehicle license holders that the 2026 Livery Vehicle License Renewal Period will begin on October 1, 2025.

License holders are encouraged to prepare in advance and ensure all required documentation is up to date to avoid any delays in processing.

ILLBA Receives NLA Grant



The annual Association Grant Program gives each eligible member association the opportunity to receive a grant, and the funds can be used to enhance operations, expand programming, and better serve their members. 


We are excited and grateful to announce that the ILLBA has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the NLA!


The ILLBA board will designate these funds to support member education and recruiting efforts in 2026. Stay tuned for more details!

The Department of Finance (DOF) has reported to BACP that many Chauffeur License RENEWAL applicants are reaching out to DOF for debt clearance letter on their own accord.


Please remind all chauffeurs that the DOF Debt Clearance is only required for NEW Chauffeur License applicants.

Which North America Airports Are Truly Best in Class? Travelers Have Spoken



This past Labor Day weekend, 10.4 million passengers passed through Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints, with the agency reporting that it’s on track to break an all-time annual passenger volume record this year. In other words, more travelers are heading into the skies than ever before.



So, what does that mean for the air travel experience? According to a new study released by consumer insights, data, and analytics firm J.D. Power this week, overall air passenger satisfaction remains high despite soaring traveler numbers. That is thanks largely to improvements in the food scene at airports—mostly driven by bringing in more local culinary talent—and increased ease in navigating the airport.

American Airlines loses bid to block O'Hare gate redistribution

A federal judge has sided with United and the City of Chicago in their dispute with American over gate allocations at Chicago O'Hare.


American sued the Chicago Department of Aviation in an Illinois circuit court this summer, asking for an injunction to block the city's plan to allocate five more gates to United and take away four of American's gates, effective in October. The case was originally brought by American in May, but in federal court
