Clint_s Controls Corner Each month, our Lighting Controls Department Manager, Clint Conley, offers insight and advice about lighting controls. Clint, a licensed professional electrical engineer, brings over 15 years of construction, engineering, and lighting controls experience to the table. He takes the often confusing topic of lighting controls, and presents information in a straightforward and concise manner.

Lighting controls is an important part of energy savings for any building. This is recognized by new code requirements mentioned in previous Clint's Controls Corner articles. Some projects go farther than meeting code by seeking LEED certification. The LEED certification system has had a lot of evolution since Clint took his LEED AP exam back in 2004. The current standard is LEED v4. There are many changes in this version impacting lighting in general. While the lighting controls impacts are not as significant, it is still important to keep up with the latest requirements. The following article is a great summary specifically geared to lighting controls under LEED v4.
