Daily COVID-19 Results
 
Governor JB Pritzker held his daily press conference and announced:
 
  1. There are 2,341 new cases of coronavirus in Illinois.
  2. There are a total of 2,662 deaths related to coronavirus in Illinois, including 46 additional deaths announced today.
  3. A total of 63,840 cases have been confirmed in at least 97 of the 102 counties.
  4. There have been 333,147 individuals tested for coronavirus in Illinois.

  • The Governor gave the following updates on hospitalization, ICU beds and ventilators:
  • Total number of Illinois hospital beds occupied by COVID-19 patients:
  • April 5 - 3,680
  • April 12 - 4,091
  • April 19 - 4,599
  • April 26 - 4,672 
  • May 3 - 4,493
  • Total number of Illinois ICU beds occupied by COVID-19 patients:
  • April 5 - 43% of 2,709 beds
  • April 12 - 39% of 2,991 beds
  • April 19 - 40% of 3,134 beds
  • April 26 - 34% of 3,631 beds
  • May 3 - 33% pf 3,681 beds
  • Total number of Illinois ICU bed availability by region as defined by IDPH:
  • Rockford region - 51.5% of ICU beds available
  • Peoria region - 40.2% of ICU beds available
  • Springfield region - 54.3% of ICU beds available
  • Edwardsville region - 27.5% of ICU beds available
  • Marion region - 27.5% of ICU beds available
  • Champaign region - 44.9% of ICU beds available
  • Cook and collar counties:
  • Chicago -16.9% of ICU beds available
  • Southwest suburbs - 17.9% of ICU beds available
  • West suburbs - 15.9% of ICU beds available
  • Northwest suburbs- 38.3% of ICU beds available
  • North suburbs - 11.9% of ICU beds available
  • Total Illinois ventilator inventory occupied by COVID-19 patients:
  • April 6 - 29%
  • April 14 - 25%
  • April 26 - 23% 
  • May 3 - 22%
  • The Governor noted that mask decontamination is available at the Waukegan facility. IEMA is coordinating this fast and free service and individuals can sign up their facility to have masks decontamination at www.battelle.org/decon. This service would allow masks to be decontaminated up to 20 times. 

Employer Resources & Programs
