Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a
Final National Mercury Inventory and Reporting Rule
under the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA). This Rule requires manufacturers and importers of mercury-added products to submit a report on mercury-added products sold in the U.S. every three years. The first report will cover calendar year 2018, and is due to EPA by July 1, 2019.
EPA's rule allows reporters to utilize IMERC's online
for reporting on applicable products.
IMERC is updating its online reporting cycle to conform with EPA's timeline. The most significant change for companies will be that the next round of triennial notifications will include mercury-added products data for calendar year 2018 - rather than calendar year 2019.
Companies can prepare for the state and national reporting requirements by collecting their mercury-added product sales data for 2018 now.
An exact reporting window, and additional guidance and training for completing the online submissions will follow in the next few months. IMERC will send additional updates and information as it becomes available. Please contact
with any questions or concerns.
