Making an IMPACT
Past Events
Last quarter, our employees took part in many MAI community endeavors.

In September, Beej biked 72 miles through the hills of Texas for the Tour de Cure to raise money for diabetes research.

In October, Beth collected items for UNC Horizons, helping pregnant and/or parenting women struggling with substance use disorders and their children.

In November, Nancy teamed up with Toys for Tots to collect gifts for underprivileged children.
MAI Season of Giving
For the month of December,
the MAI team hosted a series of mini events to spread some holiday cheer.

We anonymously treated each other to small gifts and goodies to spread smiles and holiday cheer.

We made seasonal cards for families receiving packages from the Triangle Nonprofit & Volunteer Leadership Center

We gathered old shirts, tennis balls, and empty water bottles to make dog toys to be delivered to local animal shelters.

We created decorations to brighten up a patient's door at a local hospital.

We sorted donated clothing for impoverished and homeless children for Note in the Pocket.

We wrote motivational messages on lunch bags for Urban Ministries of Durham, which fights poverty & homelessness.

Welcome to Our New MAI Coordinators
Welcome Beth, Ilana, and Chrissy C. to the MAI Team! We can't wait to see your impact on future events!

From left to right: Preeti Chugha, Elaina Howard,
Nancy Gasper-Smith, Lena Randhawa, Ilana Dew

Put together, Nancy's team has over 24 years of medical writing/regulatory experience!

Nancy joined IMPACT in 2010, after starting her career as part of the Regulatory Affairs Training Academy at SRA in 2008, followed by i3 Statprobe in 2009. She can be found rooting for the Panthers with her husband and daughter, landscaping in her backyard, or chasing her new puppy.
Elaina started at IMPACT in 2011, after completing her
post-doc at UNC-CH while holding a senior editor position with American Journal Experts. She cherishes her time with her husband and their 2 young boys. Elaina also loves reading, yoga, the Tar Heels, and experimenting with vegetarian recipes.
Lena  came to IMPACT in 2012, after completing her doctorate at UNC-CH and holding a managing editor position with American Journal Experts. She loves spending time with her husband and 2 young children and cheering for the Tar Heels. In her 'spare' time, she volunteers with a hippotherapy group (CAN-TR) or records stories for the KARTKids Foundation.
Preeti joined us in March from Duke Translational Medicine Institute, where she was a Regulatory Affairs Scientist. She enjoys knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Ilana is our newest team member (as of June) and joins us from PPD, where she was a medical writer. She spends her time with her husband and 3 young children, playing music, cooking, and hosting big gatherings with friends.
