Behind the Curtain at IMPACT
Meet Our New Publisher & Medical Writer!
Left to Right: Randy Carmichael and Rebecca Pogue
This quarter, IMPACT welcomed 2 new employees: Randy Carmichael (publisher) and Rebecca Pogue (medical writer).

Randy  was a Principal Submissions Specialist/Global Publishing Lead with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). He was employed with GSK and its former entities for 27 years, 21 of which were in Regulatory Operations. Randy enjoys spending time with his family and 2 dogs, traveling, working in his yard, and listening to music.

Rebecca transitioned to medical writing 11 years ago after hanging up her lab coat as an immunologist. Outside of work, she is usually busy with her 3 girls and supporting their interests in figure skating, soccer, and art. She enjoys baking and watching movies and hopes to get back into dance one of these days.
Season of Giving
For the months of November and December, the Making an IMPACT team hosted several events to spread some holiday cheer around the office and throughout the community!

We made seasonal cards for seniors living at Carolina Point Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Durham, wishing them all a happy holiday season.

We visited the TROSA Thrift Store in Durham and sorted through curtains, bedding, tablecloths, and rugs.

We made dog toys out of old t-shirts to donate to local animal shelters in an effort to brighten a dog's day during the holiday season.

We brought our favorite dishes  to share and wore ugly holiday sweaters, while we exchanged gifts.
