Hi everyone -
First and foremost, we hope that you and your loved ones are all well and staying safe.  Like so many others, all IMPACT team members are working from home until further notice, and we are ensuring that everyone has the resources, technological and otherwise, to continue their work as productively as possible.  Our "Making an IMPACT" team is also finding ways to support our local community during this time of great need.  Needless to say, we are all looking forward to the day when we can get back to business as usual.  But for now, check out what we've been up to in Q1 of 2020!
Whether it be by subscribing to our newsletter or blog, joining us at one of our Making an IMPACT events, or following us on social media, we hope you'll engage with us, and don't forget to call if you need us!  We're here to help.

Promotions
Amanda Preston was promoted to Clinical Research Scientist I following her completion of IMPACT's Fellowship Program. Not only is Amanda an outstanding writer and scientist, she has a great personality and sense of humor, which keeps us all smiling! She was also a stellar representative of IMPACT at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Triangle's Finest Campaign during which she raised a very impressive $11,000+!

Caroline Drucker was promoted to Senior Clinical Research Scientist! Caroline joined IMPACT in 2017 and has established herself as an excellent writer who is a consummate professional, an enjoyable and reliable team member, and an open and clear communicator. Caroline has worked on a variety of challenging and complicated projects.  In the past year, Caroline also passed her RAC exam, began senior reviewing documents, and has seamlessly transitioned into a PM role. Caroline has shown a keen ability for problem solving while remaining cool, calm, and collected. She also remains an active contributor to our company culture, serving as the blog coordinator and LinkedIn manager for the Corporate Communications Team.

Nick Luciano   was promoted to Senior Clinical Research Scientist! Nick joined IMPACT in 2017 and has since proven himself to be an exemplary team player, a gifted mentor, and a brilliant scientific writer. Nick is masterfully able to juggle simultaneous projects and has written a plethora of CSRs, protocols, and IBs with various sponsors. Most recently, Nick accepted the challenge of serving as the PM for a submission team and has done an absolutely amazing job. He has executed his PM role with charm and endless patience. Aside from being a fabulous colleague, Nick is an all-around wonderful person, with an innate kindness, and wicked sense of humor that is truly infectious. He has contributed his time and talents to Making an IMPACT and has served in helping to mentor our fellows whenever the opportunity has arisen.

Rebecca Pogue was promoted to Consultant. She joined IMPACT in 2017 with over 10 years of medical writing experience within CRO and pharmaceutical environments. She has worked on numerous types of early and late phase regulatory documents and served as Program Lead for 2 preferred partnerships. Since joining IMPACT, Rebecca has been a key contributor as a senior reviewer. She has been praised for her availability, open door policy, and willingness to not only answer questions, but also to take the time to teach and mentor her colleagues. Rebecca has recently taken on a project management role and has already begun demonstrating her strengths as she has adapted to several strategic changes by the team.  Rebecca's passion for mentoring has also become evident with her joining the Training and Development team.

Kasturi Puranam  was promoted to Principal Clinical Research Scientist! Kasturi joined IMPACT in 2015, and since joining, has found her niche working on early phase documents. Kasturi has also become widely respected for her willingness to take on and succeed with challenging and often novel document types and/or processes.  She brings her passion for teaching into her work, where she has excelled at training and mentoring many of her colleagues. When Kasturi conducts internal reviews for her more junior Medical Writing colleagues, she eagerly steps into a mentoring role and is known for being approachable and accessible, providing pragmatic advice, and always being willing to pitch in to help. Kasturi also regularly contributes to the company culture at IMPACT, having worked on the holiday planning committee for several years and recently, in concert with Cheryl, creating the IMPACT on Literacy group as a new Corporate Communications Initiative. When Kasturi has an interest or sees a need, she doesn't hesitate to put an idea into action and follow through with a clear plan and effective implementation!

Beth Pultorak was promoted to Principal Clinical Research Scientist! Beth joined IMPACT in 2016, and since then her contributions to our company have been immeasurable. She is an amazing medical writer and scientist, as well as a kind and caring person. She is able to brilliantly handle every document or project thrown her way regardless of the complexity. The relationship she has cultivated with one of our Sponsors and their new medical writing leadership team, formerly as PM and currently as our internal project advisor, is truly admirable. Beth pours her heart and soul into managing this Sponsor relationship; she understands the importance of this relationship, and she is always looking for new opportunities and ways to improve. Beth has a super sense of humor and can always make even a stressful project fun while getting everyone involved and making it a great learning experience.

Cheryl Ainslie  was promoted to Principal Clinical Research Scientist! Cheryl joined us in 2018 and has been a positive and impactful member of our medical writing team since her first day.  Cheryl has always been willing to take on an additional project or help someone in a pickle. She has established herself as a strong and independent writer on various projects. Cheryl effectively managed an unpredictable safety reporting project, showing incredible flexibility and taking the initiative to create training slides for others to reference in the future. As a senior reviewer, Cheryl provides sound scientific feedback and guidance on projects big and small, and she continuously received praise on her ability to mentor and guide newer writers through project hurdles. IMPACT on Literacy, the brainchild of Cheryl and Kasturi, has been another of Cheryl's great successes! Cheryl has helped create an outlet to share her passion for reading with both her colleagues and the community.

Ryan Overcash was promoted to Principal Clinical Research Scientist! Ryan joined us in 2016, and anyone who has been lucky enough to work with him knows his easy going attitude, patience on difficult projects, sense of humor, and scientific ability. Ryan has found his niche working on early phase documents, being one of the unique people here who enjoys the nonclinical work. As one of our resident protocol experts, he has taken some of our newer writers through their first protocol projects, receiving rave feedback on his ability to both mentor and review. Ryan has shown great adaptability and always maintains an open door policy for people to drop in and ask questions. In his role as Head of the Fellowship Program, Ryan has already shown remarkable leadership and maturity, and we've got no doubt that he will be an excellent manager in his new role!

Holly Buchanan  was promoted to Principal Consultant, Medical Writing and Submission Management! Holly joined us in 2017, and her medical writing and regulatory experience shines through in every project she contributes to. Her submission prowess has been particularly evident, as several clients continue to rely on Holly to run their programs. Her recent contributions include help with a CMC submission, as well as the IB and regulatory responses for the submission. Holly's love of pediatrics is also ever present, as evidenced by her excellent work on a PIP and her willingness to share her expertise in the pediatric submission Lunch-N-Learn last year. Holly continues to be an excellent mentor and reviewer, and we thank her for all her contributions to IMPACT!

Please join us in congratulating Amanda, Caroline, Nick, Rebecca, Kasturi, Beth, Cheryl, Ryan, and Holly on their well-deserved promotions!
