Making an IMPACT
Past Events
Our employees  took part in many MAI  community events.

We had the opportunity to participate in Skype with a Scientist and answer questions that elementary school kids had about what "science" entails.

To celebrate Valentine's Day, the MAI team made treat bags and special cards for everyone. <3

We were again consumed by March Madness and filled out our charity brackets. Our winners were Aaron Jones, Lena Randhawa, and Meredith Latino. They chose to support Partners in Health, CAN-TR, and St. Jude's respectively.

The IMPACT team raised money for the CFF Great Strides Walk in Chapel Hill. The walk got rained out but the fundraising will still make an impact!

In May, we partnered again with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive. Thank you to everyone who donated!
Upcoming Events
Help the Homeless Drive

Book Harvest Book Drive
In May, help Lena collect new or used children's books for Book Harvest to promote literacy in children in the Durham area.

Behind the Curtain at IMPACT
Promotions
Lori Davis  was promoted to Senior Manager, Medical Writing and Program Management! Lori had an incredible 2018 as she oversaw several NDA submissions; her efforts were instrumental in making the submissions run smoothly. She also took on the "not-so-fun" tasks to allow the writers working on the project to focus on writing. Both our writers and the client truly appreciated all of her efforts. She also managed to squeeze in a variety of small projects, always stepping up to help out when she had any "spare" time. In addition, since taking on a management role, she's found her voice on the management team. Lori provides insightful and productive input at management meetings and has taken on a variety of management-related projects!

Jennifer (Jenny) Garver was promoted to Senior Manager, Medical Writing and Program Management! She entered management in 2017 and has been working closely with Kim on training and development, coming up with fabulous suggestions and working hard to start up our Senior Writers Forum. Furthermore, she served as a writer on an NDA submission while also managing projects for 2 other clients. Jenny has spread her wings this past year on some very challenging projects, including a clinical overview to accompany an RMP update, an EMA PRAC response, several sNDAs, and complicated CSR projects. And as we all know, Jenny is always the first to raise her hand to help out anyone in a jam.

Ilana Dew was promoted to Manager, Medical Writing and Program Management! Since joining IMPACT in 2016, she has demonstrated amazing writing and client management skills. She has worked on a variety of challenging and complicated projects including difficult CSRs, protocols, briefing books, and INDs. She's also doing program management work with a new early phase virtual client and has already impressed them with her organizational skills and knowledge. Ilana has proven to be a phenomenal mentor for many of our writers, spending countless hours teaching them critical skills for success with their clients. She also started the Junior Writer's Forum to help with IMPACT's continuing education.

Christine (Chrissy) Cierpial was promoted to Senior Office Manager! Since joining us in 2014, she has progressed to become an indispensable member of the IMPACT team. Chrissy supports a wide variety of functions critical to the efficient functioning of the company, including facilities management, supply ordering, finance, payroll, business development, and human resources. Much of what Chrissy does is not outwardly visible to everyone (other than our CEO), but you can assume that anything positive that happens around IMPACT has her fingerprints on it. And I'm sure we can all agree that Chrissy can organize one heck of a company event!

Ryan Overcash was promoted to Senior Clinical Research Scientist! Ryan joined us in 2016 and endured a lengthy stint as a narrative project manager, a role during which he developed great mentorship skills. Ryan's easy going attitude is much appreciated by those who have worked with him. Ryan took over safety reporting for an IND, during which he developed a great rapport with the client and brought in new medical writing business. Ryan's other project experiences include numerous protocols, an unwieldy IB (for multiple years), pharmacokinetic and nonclinical modules of an sNDA, and several CSRs. Ryan has become a reviewer for protocols and will be leading his first   Lunch-N-Learn this year.

Cheryl Ainslie was promoted to Senior Clinical Research Scientist! Cheryl joined us last year and has quickly established herself as a consummate professional and very capable member of our team. Cheryl has worked on a variety of projects including a module 2.7.4 document, a troublesome CSR, and a "unique" CSR supplement. In recent months, Cheryl passed her RAC exam, began reviewing CSRs, seamlessly transitioned onto an IND safety reporting project, and co-founded the IMPACT on Literacy Book Club! Cheryl is also helping to develop a statistics Lunch-N-Learn. Despite being part of some difficult projects, Cheryl has remained cool, calm, and collected while always finding time to help others.
