YME's Annual FCA Volleyball Tournament!

YME FCA began hosting this event in 2023 with the intention of creating a fun, positive atmosphere for everyone, athlete or not, to come together, let loose, and most importantly hear the Gospel. Volleyball is just a tool to accomplish our mission of sharing with others the hope we have in Jesus Christ!

We aim to share and glorify God by opening the night in prayer and having our FCA huddle stand in recognition of their participation, which opens the door for them to have conversation with others. We also invite a guest speaker to come and share their testimony and proclaim the Gospel to a gym full of students, athletes, staff, parents, and grandparents! 

This year, we had 8 teams of 7th-12th graders signed up to compete which accounted for around 80-90 students plus those who came to watch!

It's so fun to do team introductions at the beginning of this event! Each team comes up with a creative team name and team uniform and are introduced individually to those in attendance. We want everyone to feel appreciated for their contribution to their team and their presence at this event.

To make sure everyone is involved throughout the evening we have drawings for prizes and offer a variety of entertainment that is additional to the volleyball tournament. This year we had bean bags set up for competition as well as a giant jenga game! Concessions were available all evening serving a hometown favorite, barbeques from Carl's Bakery! Yum!

Throughout the night we gave out free resources such as Bibles, books, stickers and FOUR bracelets to anyone who desired to learn more! 

We ended our evening by naming the event winners!

Volleyball Champs won a pizza party,

Best Team Costime won Ziggi's Coffee coupons,

Best Team Name won DQ Blizzard coupons.

"I like how inclusive this event is. Anyone can come because the Gospel is for everyone!"

Praise the Lord for events like this that are held in Jesus' Name!

FCA's Theme this year revolves around 2 Corinthians 3:18 which reads,

“We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
