King County Health Order
begins Monday, October 25th
New COVID mandate for ages 12 & up

Effective October 25, 2021, in accordance with the new Public Health – Seattle & King County Health Order, The British Dancing Academy is being required to collect proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours for all students and family members ages 12 and up who are participating in class or wish to remain in the facility while their child is in class.

If you have already provided your proof of full vaccination earlier this fall, you will not need to resubmit.

We are a small dance school trying to make our way in this new world. We recognize there are different opinions and know this requirement by King County will be hard for some of our students and families. It is hard on us as well, and we just want to focus on dance and teaching our students.

Please read on for vital information regarding acceptable proof of full vaccination, negative COVID-19 test results, and how to present those in order to take class or wait in the lobby.
Note: This order does not apply to children ages 11 and younger.
Individuals who turn 12 after this order goes into effect may continue to come to class if an adult can state that the child is in the process of getting vaccinated.
ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION

Fully vaccinated means the date must be at least 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine. Self-reported vaccination records that are not verified by a health care provider will not be accepted. Here are acceptable means of proof that you have been fully vaccinated:

  • Vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine and date last dose administered)
  • A photo of a vaccination card as a separate document.
  • A photo of the attendee’s vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device.
  • Documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider electronic health record or state Immunization Information System record (get your official, verified proof of COVID-19 vaccination online for free at MyIRMobile – see below).

If you've misplaced or lost your card, don't worry! You can get official, verified proof of your COVID-19 vaccination online, for free. The MyIR website is an official state pathway to access proof of vaccination in Washington state. To get your copy, visit MyIRMobile to sign up for free. If you already have a MyIR account set up, you're all set! This is considered acceptable proof of full vaccination. ***Please keep in mind that verification to your records through MyIR may not be immediate, and access is currently limited to English language only.***

STEPS FOR UPLOADING PROOF OF VACCINATION

  1. Sign in to your MindBody account
  2. Click on Documents.
  3. Choose your file and click Upload
  4. Email office@TheBritishDancingAcademy.com and include the name(s) of all persons you have uploaded verification for

Note: we do not encourage you to email your proof of vaccination to us directly, but rather use the portal above for privacy and best security practices.

If you are uploading proof of vaccination as a means of taking in-person classes, your upload must be complete before you arrive for class. This will allow us to streamline the process of class entry.

Documentation of medical or religious exemptions are not accepted. Those individuals must still provide proof of a negative test result.

ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF NEGATIVE TEST RESULT

Acceptable proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (test taken within 72 hours of class) must be presented in one of the forms below prior to class time.
  • Printed document (from the test provider or laboratory).
  • An email or text message displayed on a phone or electronic device from the test provider or laboratory.

The information provided should include name of person tested, type of test performed, and date of negative test result.

PLEASE NOTE: Home tests are not valid under this order. The tests must be rapid tests provided on site or a PCR test from a medical professional.
Please note that vaccine and/or negative test result verification does not apply to quick visits to The British Dancing Academy, such as picking up or dropping off students, visiting the restroom, asking a question, or stopping by the office.
Masks will still be required at The British Dancing Academy.
As always, we appreciate each and every student and BDA family member. We thank you very much for your support.
Thank you!
