Mardi Gras Madness Bib Codes

MGM uses race bib code stickers to identify early entry, Legacy, K9, 1K, and 10K particpants.

E = Early Registration. Race registration received on or before the event early registration cutoff of 1/15/2023.  

L = Legacy / Loyalty Award. Guaranteed only for returning participants registered on or before 1/15/2023. Please visit the Awards Table after finishing your event to claim your loyalty award. Loyalty awards are distributed first come / first served while supplies last.

10K = 10K Event Particpant

1K = 1K Particpant. Event is not timed. 1K Runners receive a custom finishers award separate from the 5K / 10K Finishers medal.

K9 = K9 registration. Please visit the K9 Registration area to pick up your pooch’s race kit. 

Please note:

• Due to ordering and production deadlines, participants registered after 1/15/2023 are not guaranteed first choice of Tshirt style or size.
• Size / Style exchanges (FOR UNWORN SHIRTS ONLY) may be made after 10:30am on event day as supply allows.
• Loyalty / Legacy runners registered after 1/15/2023 are not guaranteed a loyalty award.
• Loyalty / Legacy runners registered after 1/15/2023 desiring a loyalty award are invited to visit the Awards Table after 10:30am to claim their loyalty award as supply allows.

Event Day Information

Mardi Gras Madness will be held rain or shine Sunday, February 26th at Valencia Town Center in Valencia - 24201 Valencia Blvd, Valencia, CA 91355.  Click here for directions to Valencia Town Center

Start location will be in the lower parking lot behind the old Sears building, along Citrus avenue. There is ample free parking on-site. Access parking via either Valencia Boulevard or Magic Mountain Parkway. Please note, parking access from Citrus Avenue will be restricted on race day.  Click here for a detailed map of the event area.

20 Minute / Mile Time Restriction 

Both the Mardi Gras Madness 5K and 10K courses are USTAF Certified! In the interest of public safety and impact to local traffic during the event, the MGM maintains a 20 minute per mile time restriction. Course 'Sweepers' will be released to walk the course 20 minutes after the 8:00am start, and initiate course breakdown as they complete the course.  Click here for a map of the course.

K9 Division

A special note for K9 owners. All K9 participants must be on a static leash. Retractable leashes are not allowed. Please pick up after your pooch. 

Legacy Runners

Mardi Gras Madness Loves Our Legacy Runners!!! Legacy Runners will be identified by a special LEGACY "L" label attached to your bib. Our MGM Krewe will be on the lookout to get you your 2023 Legacy award after the race! 

8 ONE 8 Beer Garden

Participants 21 and older are invited to visit the Lucky Luke Beer Garden and enjoy a post race craft beer tasting compliments of 8 ONE 8 Brewery. ID is required to receive a 2023 Beer Garden Access wristband. Wristbands will be available at early packet pickup and on race morning. Access to the Garden is restricted to adults 21 and older only. Race registration includes one free beer sample offer. Additional samples available for purchase on race day. 

Time for Recess! 

5K/10K Participants can enjoy a post race pick me up courtesy of Recess Ice Cream and Mardi Gras Madness! Stop by the Recess Truck to grab your goodies! 

Costume Contest

Strut your stuff and win big in one of three prize categories! Best Dressed Individual Youth, Adult, K9, and Team. Contestants must be a registered 1K, 5K, 10K, or K9 participant and must be present to claim awards and prizes.   Click Here for Official Contest Rules

MGM Virtual Runners

A special shout out to our MGM Virtual Runners! We'll miss you this year! :( Look for text / email instructions race morning for submitting your 5K/10K results. Please note, virtual runner results submitted are considered unofficial and can not be certified toward place awards or overall standings.
